Caroline Kha

"Sometimes when waiting or taking a walk, I’ll see things that could become paintings. When I paint, I use memories of transitory spaces or images I’ve encountered along the way. So much unknown imagery is buried inside us. We lie on the grass and watch bunnies, birds, hidden faces and mountains emerge from the clouds. In the clouds we create our own myths and legends, our own sense of wonder, darkness and hidden destinies. Our minds are constantly working. Everything rests just at the tip of the tongue."

Deirdre Brennan - STRANGER

"At stake are the questions about how we live our lives, what are we prepared to ask of ourselves and of those who love us, what value we put on love and what value we put on art, what compromises we will make, which gods will we appease."
Stravinsky's Lunch - Drusilla Modjeska

Liz Cuming

"It is both a privilege and a curse to be driven to paint. I say driven, because I really feel that those of us who persist longterm with painting must be so. Painting is bigger than all of us – a consuming obsession that gobbles huge slabs of time, space and resources (both financial and emotional). There is however no escape – to not paint is unthinkable. Paralleling the journey of life itself, it is the sense of the unknown that sustains this obsession – the more learned, the more there is to learn. When you think you know what you are doing give up!"

Marlon Dalton (Hoodoo Gallery)

"One of the few times I feel absolute freedom is in the early hours of the morning while the majority of the nation sleeps, painting during this window of cool quiet is for me a sublime pleasure. My paintings are an expression of the things I love, people, places, cuisine, music, annotations on the ephemeral nature of life; they are a tapestry of colour and texture that radiate emotion."

Michèle Marshall

"In my artwork I seek to portray the sensual and sublime experience of being within a landscape space. The landscape for me is spiritually alive, filled with energy depth and richness of colour. My paintings can be seen both as fields of texture & light and as landscapes. By combining numerous layers of glazes, gold leaf, rice papers and fabrics I am able to produce an inner glow in my depictions of the unique qualities of the Australian landscape. "

Sarina

"I’m very lucky to be able to paint what ever I feel like at the moment. If I feel like painting surf…or flowers…or my sexy “Je suis” girls I do! I do a lot of running and walking…..and often dream about images or see things whilst out in the bush that I should paint. The only problem is finding the time to do all the things I want to create. I have BOXES of sketches and ideas and I doubt I’ll ever get to do them all. I hate the fact we have to sleep!!!"

W. Shawn Gray (AuzGnosis)

Creative thinking has always been central credo of mine; both during my fine art training thence practice, as well as alongside in my ADP (Automatic Data Processing), IT (Information Technology), KE (Knowledge Engineering / AI (Artificial Intelligence) ) careers. Despite treasuring numerous sparks of meticulously documented inspiration, I often let ideas ferment for years, to decades, before finally giving them any discrete form in media as diverse as virtual reality to bronze castings. In 1976 I made "Spiders" Australia’s first fine-art computer graphic film. My films being included in "Videotapes dall’Australia" at the 1980 La Biennale di Venezia (Venice Biennale). 1984-2003 created the Absolute Kinegraphic Notation System "The AKNS is to the understanding of movement and space, what the invention of the musical score was, for the notation of the harmony & rhythm of sound." On my (Australia’s Secrete Knowledge) AuzGnosis website can be found my Artist Statement, Professional Resume, Biography, Bibliographies, Essays, Images, Virtual Reality, Philosophy, Politics and lots more.
